Ingredients

  • 1 ball of pizza dough
  • 1 250 gram bag of mixed shredded cheese
  • 5 to 10 pepperoni slices
  • 2 garlic cloves, finely chopped
  • 60 grams salted butter
  • 3 sprigs thyme
  • 1 rosemary sprig
  • 80 grams marinara (for dipping)
  • 2 tablespoons flour (for dusting)
  • round piping tip (for cutting mini pepperonis)
  • butchers twine

Cooking instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 200°C/400°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper
  • Dust work surface with flour and roll pizza dough out flat, then divide into 6-8 sections
  • Roll each individual section into a circle (more or less), dusting with flour as needed
  • Using the small end of a piping tip, cut small circles out of the pepperoni slices
  • Place about 2 tablespoons of cheese and a few mini pepperonis into the center of the dough
  • Pull and pinch the sides of the dough to seal the pizza bombs
  • Lay 3 pieces of the butchers twine down and place the pizza bomb in the center, then tie each string at the center one by one, cutting off the excess string
  • Make the garlic herb butter by melting the butter in a saucepan on a low heat and adding the finely chopped garlic, plus de-stemmed thyme leaves
  • Place pizza bomb upside down onto baking sheet lined with parchment paper, and brush with garlic herb butter
  • Bake for about 15 minutes or until golden brown
  • Once cooled slightly, cut away butchers twine, garnish with a rosemary needle for the pumpkin "stem," and serve with warm marinara dipping sauce!
