Frozen margarita

Ingredients

For the green juice:

  • 3 oranges
  • 2 limes
  • Thumb-sized piece of ginger, peeled and roughly chopped
  • 6 handfuls of spinach
  • 2 green apples, roughly chopped

For the frozen margarita:

  • 2 tbsp salt
  • Ice cubes
  • 50ml tequila
  • 50ml triple sec
  • 50ml green juice
  • 25ml lime juice
  • ½ lime, sliced, to serve

Cooking instructions

  • Begin by making your green juice. Juice the oranges and limes and peel the ginger, then core and cut the apples into chunks.
  • Add to a blender with the spinach and blend until smooth.
  • Use a jay cloth or muslin to strain the liquid into a bowl.
  • Transfer to a sealed jar or bottle and store in the fridge for up to 3 days. Enjoy!

For the frozen margarita:

  • Place 2 martini glasses in the freezer for 5-10 minutes.
  • Spread the salt out on a plate, then wet the rim of the glass and dip it in the salt to create a fine rim.
  • Add three handfuls of ice into a blender with the tequila, triple sec, green juice and lime juice. Blitz until smooth.
  • Serve in your frozen glasses with a slice of lime for garnish. Enjoy!
