Junior chefs (11-15): 'Comfort Food' Day

Fill the school holidays with delicious comfort food classics as your young chefs join us in the kitchen for a day to master deliciously hearty family dishes - who doesn't love a proper crumble or anything with mashed potato?! This is a whole day with our chef team, cooking, tasting and having fun as they learn new recipes to share with you at home.

What to expect

Gordon loves getting his children involved in the kitchen, meaning they’ve grown up really excited and inspired by food. Our Junior chef classes are a great opportunity for young cooks to get stuck in and have fun trying out new things.

Your young cooks will spend the day at the Academy, cooking up an absolute storm with our chefs in the kitchen. We have different days and each day has a different theme and cooking activities. They will make their own lunch during the morning session and then have their afternoon creations ready to take home to share with the rest of the family.

This 'Comfort Food' day will include some hearty classics - family favourites that are not only delicious but include lots of useful cooking skills too. This might include preparing fruit for crumbles and desserts, making the perfect mashed potato or creating rich sauces - whether for cheesy pasta or a rich, sticky pudding.
