Dinner in 90: Steak

Being confident in the kitchen is all about mastering the basics, such as how to cook the perfect steak, just the way you like it. Let our chefs take you through every step in our speedy evening dinner class, from choosing your cut to resting, plus how to make a classic steak sauce to finish the dish.

What to expect

Learn, laugh and enjoy a delicious dinner (and a glass of wine!) with our evening masterclasses. You’ll be spending the whole evening with us at the Academy, but it will only take 90 minutes to master a new recipe and pick up some essential skills. Then sit down, relax and tuck in… cheers!

In this relaxed evening cooking class, our chefs will make sure you walk away confident in cooking steak just the way you like it. In under 2 hours we’ll cover top tips for buying, seasoning, frying, basting and resting steak, as well as getting the perfect serve every time.

Before you know it, you’ll be ready to tuck into your steak supper with your classmates, or you can always pack it up to take home. 

Class details

Class starts: 6.30pm, arrive anytime from 6pm to check in at reception

Class finishes: 8pm, stay to dine with your class or take home the dishes you’ve made

Class size: Maximum 12 guests, some elements may require working in pairs with a classmate, don’t worry if you’ve come alone – it’s a great way to meet new people and have a laugh

Typical recipes and skills (we’ll cook the best available on the day, so we might surprise you!):

  • Introduction to steak, cuts and preparation
  • How to cook the perfect steak
  • Steak sauce, such as peppercorn sauce or chimichurri
  • Seasonal veg side, such as roasted mushrooms or tomatoes

  • Recipe wallet and class recipes
  • Refreshments throughout the class including a glass of wine, beer or soft drink
  • Takeaway containers to take your creations home in (although feel free to bring your own or a cool bag if travelling far)
