Join us to enjoy a tot of whisky as we help you cook up a cosy supper in your own home in honour of Burns Night. We'll be celebrating with our take on some Scottish classics, from neeps and tatties through to a creamy cranachan, and of course some haggis thrown in, too!
When you need some quick cooking inspiration, our Online masterclasses are the perfect place to start. Join us through Zoom from wherever you are in the world and cook along with our chefs as they teach you a new skill or recipe, all within the comfort of your own kitchen. Using your own ingredients and equipment you’ll be confident that you can recreate all the dishes whenever you like.
You’ll join our chef teachers virtually at the Academy, where they’ll guide you through the recipes and techniques step-by-step, watching you on screen and advising you throughout the class.
We’ll email you all the details in advance so you can shop and prepare in plenty of time, then in the class you can just concentrate on cooking along with the chef and your fellow classmates – and eating your fantastic food as well!
Burns Night on January 25th is a chance to enjoy the comforts of winter with some hearty Scottish-style feasting! We'll be helping you knock up a proper steak, neeps and tatties (we'll explain all this in class...) dinner for you to enjoy at home, along with a good splash of whisky (to drink and eat!) and a creamy dessert. There'll be some haggis of course, and it's up to you if you want to 'address the haggis' in traditional Burns style!

Although Gordon does pop up on camera occasionally, our online classes are filmed at the Academy with our brilliant chef teachers. They all have loads of experience cooking around the world and will be passing on tons of tips and tricks from Gordon in every class.
Our online classes are hosted virtually on Zoom – you’ll be sent an invite and instructions on how to join the class via email. Please note, class times are for the UK/London timezone, so if joining internationally, please do check out the time difference for where you are.
We recommend using a laptop, desktop computer or large tablet set up in your kitchen (try covering the keyboard with cling film to avoid sticky keys!) with your camera turned on so that our chefs can see what you’re doing and help you along the way. You’ll need a good internet connection and don’t forget to plug in or check the battery has enough charge.
The classes are filmed live in the Academy with one of our chef teachers showing you exactly how to make a dish so you can follow along at home. You’ll be able to ask questions throughout and gain valuable tips as in any class.
Before each class we’ll email you a recipe pack with a full ingredients and equipment list, plus any preparation instructions. We try to squeeze a lot into 90 minutes so you'll need to have the ingredients weighed out and equipment ready, and some classes may require a little bit of preparation such as soaking an ingredient overnight.
Your chef teacher will take you through everything in class, so if you’ve forgotten something, don’t panic! We can also suggest alternatives if you haven’t got a particular piece of equipment or can’t get a certain ingredient, so get in touch if any problems.
Of course! If booking for six or more (or more than 10 devices for an online class), please get in touch with our Private Dining and Events team who can help create an amazing experience just for you.
Each booking is for one household or device, so you can have the whole family cooking along if you like. Children (under 16) are welcome to join in but must be accompanied by an adult. If you’d like to scale up a meal to feed more people, just contact us and we’ll happily recommend how best to do this.
The classes are designed for all levels of experience and to be cooked in home kitchens, so you can take part no matter whether you’re a complete beginner or already a confident cook.
You're welcome to join wherever you are in the world, just note that all times are UK GMT and will be hosted in English.
Our classes are aimed at helping everyone grow their confidence in the kitchen, whatever your level of experience. The most important thing is that you love food and are willing to give it a go!
If you have any concerns or would like advice on suitable classes, get in touch and we’ll be happy to help.
Although we might not be able to change recipes within the class, we can often suggest alternatives for certain ingredients so get in touch with any questions.
