Practise your chopping, slicing and dicing with our evening knife skills class. Our chefs will take you through essential vegetable prep using a classic recipe, such as a spicy stir-fry, to demonstrate different cuts and techniques – skills that will improve your everyday cooking at home, plus a tasty dinner, too.

What to expect

Master the essentials in just 90 minutes with our Skills night classes. Focussing on specific knife skills, ingredient preparation and core processes, our chefs will take you through these as you practise in the best way possible, by cooking your own dinner to enjoy with a glass of wine!

No matter your skill or experience, this is a great introduction to simple vegetable preparation and is aimed at building your confidence in working with kitchen knives. Our chefs will guide you through every process and be on hand for any questions and advice when it comes to finely slicing vegetables, spices and herbs for any number of recipes.

Everything you need to rustle up a tasty dinner will be provided in class and you’ll take home your recipes and any leftovers, plus plenty of inspiration for your own cooking. 

Class details

Class starts: 6.30pm, arrive anytime from 6pm to check in at reception

Class finishes: 8pm, stay to dine with your class or take home the dishes you’ve made

Class size: Maximum 12 guests, some elements may require working in pairs with a classmate, don’t worry if you’ve come alone – it’s a great way to meet new people and have a laugh

Typical recipes and skills (we’ll cook the best available on the day, so we might surprise you!):

  • Introduction to different cuts and techniques
  • Preparation of vegetables and herbs as part of a recipe, such as an Asian-style stir-fry or salad
  • Cooking hints and tips
